Home Minister to Unveil ₹75 Coin on Diamond Jubilee of Official Language

The Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, will release a ₹75 commemorative coin to mark the 'Diamond Jubilee Year of Official Language' during his address as the Chief Guest at the inaugural session of Fourth Akhil Bhartiya Rajbhasha Sammelan on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The Department of Official Language is organising the Fourth Akhil Bhartiya Rajbhasha Sammelan from September 14-15, 2024, as part of the Hindi Diwas celebration.

On September 14, 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi as the official language, and since then, this day has been celebrated as Hindi Diwas. Article 351 of the Indian Constitution mandates the Union to promote the spread of Hindi and develop it as a medium of expression for India's composite culture. Reflecting this constitutional vision, the Department of Official Language under the Home Ministry organizes Hindi Diwas and All India Official Language Conferences annually.
