Hyderabad Mint Opens Bookings for Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi Coins

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has commenced bookings for the ₹100 commemorative coin issued to mark the Birth Centenary of Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi. The bookings are open from September 12, 2024, and it is subject to limited availability.

The ₹100 coin is available in both Proof and UNC sets, packaged in Folder/Blister options. Additionally, the Proof Set with an MDF or Wooden Box has been issued, providing collectors with more options for their collection.

Earlier, on August 18, 2024, the Union Minister of Defence, Shri Rajnath Singh, along with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri M. K. Stalin, released the ₹100 commemorative coin to celebrate the Birth Centenary of Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi at Kalaivanar Arangam, Wallajah Road, Chennai.

The Proof Set is priced at ₹4,470, while the UNC set is priced at ₹4,180 for Folder/Blister package. The  MDF/Wooden Box will also be available soon.

Notably, the Hyderabad Mint has exclusively issued Proof coins in MDF/Wooden Box packaging for the last few themes. It's refreshing to see this theme now offered in Folder/Blister packaging as well.

The commemorative coin is available for purchase at the Hyderabad Mint premises and through the official website of the India Government Mint. For your reference and convenience, please check the updated 'Current and Upcoming Bookings' section.
