PM Modi to Unveil ₹100 Coin on Atal Bihari Vajpayee

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will unveil a ₹100 commemorative coin and a postal stamp celebrating the Birth Centenary of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25, 2024, at Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh.

As part of the event, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several major development projects in Khajuraho, including the Ken-Betwa River Linking National Project, India’s first interlinking of rivers initiative under the National Perspective Plan.

In addition, Shri Modi will lay the foundation stone for 1,153 Atal Gram Sushasan buildings, designed to enhance the operational efficiency of Gram Panchayats and promote good governance at the grassroots level.

It is noteworthy that a ₹100 commemorative coin was also issued in 2018 to honor Shri Vajpayee’s Birth Anniversary.

The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 23, 2024, confirming the new commemorative coin. This release will mark the 22nd or 24th commemorative coin of 2024, reportedly minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai.
