Boman Irani Launches ₹60 Coin at BITSoM Convocation Ceremony

Shri Boman Irani, as the Chief Guest, released the ₹60 commemorative coin to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani during the convocation ceremony of the 2025 graduating class of BITSoM – BITS School of Management – held on April 14, 2025, in Mumbai.

The grand occasion was graced by the presence of Shri Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chancellor of BITS Pilani; Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice-Chancellor of BITS Pilani; along with other dignitaries, faculty members, and distinguished guests. The evening also featured a vibrant cultural music performance, adding to the joy and celebration of the graduating class.

Addressing the Class of 2025, Shri Boman Irani inspired the young graduates with his words: “I wasn’t born into the film industry. I walked in through the back door and made my way to the front. If I can, anyone can.” His speech resonated deeply, leaving the audience with a message of resilience, perseverance, and belief in one’s dreams.

The commemorative coin, released to mark the milestone of this convocation, adds a unique chapter to modern Indian numismatics, symbolizing excellence in education and the transformative journey of young minds.

This marks the seventh commemorative coin release for the year 2025, minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata. The bookings for the coin are expected to open soon on the India Government Mint's website, with updates provided in the current and upcoming bookings section.
