Shri Piyush Goyal Releases First-Ever Coloured Coin on Make in India

The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, unveiled a ₹100 commemorative coin on September 20, 2025, in New Delhi, to mark the completion of a decade of the Make in India initiative. Over the past decade, Make in India has transformed the country into a global hub for manufacturing, design, and innovation. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the program has boosted domestic manufacturing, enhanced skills, attracted foreign investment, and fostered innovation. Between 2014 and 2024, India received USD 667 billion in FDI, nearly two-thirds of all inflows since liberalization. Merchandise exports reached USD 437.42 billion in FY 2024-25, while India’s ease of doing business ranking improved from 142 in 2014 to 63 in 2020. India now has 1.80 lakh DPIIT-recognized startups, the third-largest ecosystem globally, generating over 17.6 lakh jobs and producing 118 unicorns.
