Hyd Mint Opens Bookings for Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has opened the bookings for the ₹125 commemorative coin issued to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. The bookings are open from September 2, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability.

Earlier, on July 9, 2025, the Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, unveiled the ₹125 coin and postage stamp at Siri Fort Auditorium, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi, as part of the two-year commemoration being observed from July 6, 2025, to July 6, 2027.

The ₹125 coin is currently issued in the Proof Set and UNC Set packaged with a Folder or Blister pack. Additionally, it is also offered in a Proof Set with an MDF box packaging option.

The ₹125 coin in the Proof Set is priced at ₹7,200 , while the UNC Set is priced at ₹7,050, both offered in folder or blister packaging.  The Proof Set with an MDF box is priced at ₹7,720.

This commemorative coin is composed of 99.9% pure silver, weighs 40 grams, measures 44 mm in diameter, and features 200 serrations along its edge. The steadily rising silver prices and back-to-back coin bookings may make it increasingly difficult for collectors to keep up with every new theme.

These coin sets can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the current and upcoming bookings section.
