Chenab Bridge Coin Sets Available at National Rail Museum

The ₹100 commemorative coin issued to mark the commissioning of the Jammu–Srinagar Railway Line, featuring the iconic Chenab Bridge is now available at National Rail Museum, New Delhi.

Earlier on June 6, 2025, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released the commemorative coin marking this historic milestone and underscoring his commitment to strengthening rail infrastructure and improving connectivity in the region. The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways; Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office; Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir; and Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah, along with several other distinguished guests.

The ₹100 commemorative coin is currently available in a Proof Set housed in an MDF box at the Souvenir Shoppe counter of the National Rail Museum, New Delhi, priced at ₹4,300. The coin has been minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata.

Interested collectors may seize this early opportunity by visiting the National Rail Museum and purchasing the set directly from the Souvenir Shoppe counter. Availing it at this stage could be beneficial, especially before online bookings are opened by the India Government Mint, Kolkata, as availability may be limited and subject to stock at the venue.

New Commemorative Coin: Ol Chiki Script by Pandit Raghunath Murmu

The Government of India will issue a ₹100  commemorative coin  to mark the  100 years of Ol Chiki Script by Pandit Raghunath Murmu . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on February 9, 2026, confirming this coin. The Ol Chiki script was created by Pandit Raghunath Murmu in 1925 to provide the Santhali language with its own distinct and scientifically designed writing system. It was developed to accurately represent the phonetic structure of Santhali, which earlier scripts failed to capture effectively. Ol Chiki enabled widespread literacy among the Santhal community and became a powerful symbol of cultural identity, self-respect, and linguistic independence.
