New Commemorative Coin: 60 Years of HLL Lifecare Limited

The Government of India will issue a ₹60 commemorative coin to mark the 60 Years of HLL Lifecare Limited. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on April 29, 2026, confirming this coin.

HLL Lifecare Limited is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, established in 1966 with the primary objective of supporting the National Family Planning Programme through the manufacture of contraceptives. Over the years, the organisation has evolved into a diversified healthcare solutions provider engaged in the production of pharmaceuticals, hospital products, diagnostics, and medical infrastructure services. It has played a significant role in improving access to affordable healthcare through initiatives such as AMRIT pharmacies and public health supply support across India. Today, HLL Lifecare Limited continues to contribute to national healthcare delivery systems while also maintaining an international presence through exports and collaborative programmes.

The metal composition of the ₹60 coin will consist of Pure Silver (99.9%). The coin will weigh 40 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.

Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol “₹” and denominational value “60” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol.

Reverse: This face of the coin shall bear the corporate logo of HLL Lifecare Limited on the top-center of the coin with the text “HLL Lifecare Limited” and “A Government of India Enterprise” inscribed below in English. The logo of “60 Years of HLL” shall be at the center of the coin, the text “Diamond Jubilee Year” shall be inscribed in English below the logo. The year “1966-2026” in international numerals shall be inscribed on the bottom center of the coin. On the left periphery of the coin, the inscription “एच एल एल के 60 वर्ष” shall be inscribed in Devanagari script. On the right periphery of the coin, the inscription “60 Years of HLL” shall be inscribed in English.

This commemorative coin honouring HLL Lifecare Limited would recognise its significant contribution to strengthening public health services and supporting national healthcare and family welfare programmes in India. This would also be the first ₹60 coin to be issued in pure silver composition. Additionally, there are other commemorative coin releases to look forward to in the coming months.
