2026 - 14th Numismatic Exhibit Themed Indian Railways Coinage
Exhibiting Indian Railways in Commemorative Coinage at Nanya Darshini 2026, held July 10–12, 2026 at Shikshak Sadan, KG Road, Opposite Kaveri Bhavan, Nagarathpete, Majestic, Bengaluru 560002, was a pleasure.
The exhibit traced the story of Indian Railways as told through India’s commemorative coinage. These issues are more than records of transport milestones; they are compact chronicles of national aspiration preserved in metal. Each commemorative release—whether marking 150 Glorious Years, celebrating the engineering triumph of the Chenab Rail Bridge, or honoring 100 Years of Railway Electrification—captures a defining phase in the railway’s transformative journey, when infrastructure, innovation, and national pride converged.
Nanya Darshini 2026 was a highly anticipated exhibition of coins, banknotes, stamps, and collectibles organized by the Karnataka Numismatic Society (KNS). The event attracted collectors and enthusiasts from across the region. Established in 1974, KNS regularly brings together leading numismatists and participants from diverse backgrounds through monthly meetings, educational sessions, and exhibitions.
Participation included volunteering and serving as one of the sub-editors of the Nanya Darshini 2026 souvenir magazine, contributing to the event’s successful execution. Gratitude is extended to Mr. Rajendra Maru (President), Mr. Suresh N.R (Secretary), and the entire KNS committee for providing the platform to contribute and exhibit. The experience has inspired continued involvement in future numismatic exhibitions.
