2025 - 6th Numismatic Exhibit Showcasing World Banknotes

Exhibiting a selection of Graded World Banknotes at the 16th National Numismatic Exhibition 2025, held from February 21st to 23rd, 2025, at Shikshak Sadan, KG Road, Opposite Kaveri Bhavan, Majestic, Bengaluru 560002, was an immense privilege and an enriching experience.

The National Numismatic Exhibition (NNE) is organized by Marudhar Arts, India’s leading numismatic auction house. Since its inception in 2011, this exhibition has served as a premier annual event in India, attracting collectors, scholars, and enthusiasts. It features an extensive display of coins, paper money, and philately, alongside live auctions and academic sessions. Hosted in Bengaluru, a city known for its dynamic collector community, the exhibition continues to grow in stature year after year.

At the 16th NNE 2025, presenting a curated selection of Graded World Banknotes was a rewarding experience. The collection featured captivating themes such as cricket, wildlife, and historical figures, offering visitors a deeper insight into the artistic and cultural value of world currency. Attendees showed great enthusiasm, engaging in discussions about the history, rarity, and grading standards of the showcased banknotes.

The exhibit was particularly well-received by members of the Karnataka Numismatic Society and the IBNS: Hindustan Chapter. Their valuable insights and support from senior numismatists and fellow collectors enriched the display. The exhibit’s video and photographs are also set to be featured in the IBNS: Hindustan Chapter’s journal, further extending its reach within the numismatic community.

Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Jain Acharya Vidyasagar Coins

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the first Samadhi Divas of  Sant Shiromani Digambar Jainacharya Vidyasagar Mahamuniraj . The bookings are open from March 18, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. The ₹100 coin is currently issued only in the Proof Set, packaged in a Folder or Blister option. Additionally, the UNC Set with a Folder or Blister option and the Proof Set with an MDF or Wooden Box may be issued later.  Earlier, the Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, released the ₹100 commemorative coin during his visit to Chandragiri, Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh, on February 6, 2025. The ₹100 coin, included in the Proof Set and available in Folder/Blister packaging, is priced at ₹3,698. The UNC Set in Folder/Blister packaging and the MDF/Wooden Box edition may be available soon, as mentioned above. Shri Amit Shah Releases Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji's Coin

The Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, released a ₹150 commemorative coin to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj at Auda Auditorium, Shela, Ahmedabad, on March 9, 2025. The event was held in the esteemed presence of 97-year-old Acharya Bhagwant Shrimad Manohar Kirti Sagar Surishwarji Maharaj and 90-year-old Acharya Bhagwant Shrimad Padma Sagar Surishwarji Maharaj. The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel accompanied Shri Amit Shah during the ceremony.
