2023 - Eid Mubarak | Mint Souvenir Token

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, issued silver souvenir token in 2023 to mark the auspicious occasion of Eid Mubarak.

Eid Mubarak is a traditional greeting exchanged by Muslims to express good wishes on the occasion of Eid. The word Eid means a festival or celebration, while Mubarak conveys the meaning of blessed or auspicious.

There are two major Eid celebrations in Islam: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Fitr marks the conclusion of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, while Eid al-Adha commemorates the devotion and sacrifice associated with Prophet Ibrahim.

Eid Mubarak therefore represents faith, gratitude, generosity, peace and togetherness. It is a joyful occasion that brings communities together and encourages people to celebrate while remembering the importance of compassion and sharing.
