Mumbai Mint Issues New Festival Souvenir Tokens

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened bookings for special gold and silver souvenir tokens to mark the upcoming festivals of Raksha Bandhan, Onam, and Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The bookings commenced on August 5, 2023, and will remain open subject to limited availability.

For Onam and Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the Mint has introduced two options: a 5-gram gold token and a 20-gram silver token. The gold token is priced at ₹34,089.34, while the silver token is available for ₹1,959.86.

The Raksha Bandhan souvenir is a specially designed coloured silver token, weighing 40 grams and priced at ₹4,291.55. Each souvenir comes in an elegantly designed folder/blister pack, making it an ideal gifting option for the festive season.

The buyers are advised that prices are subject to revision based on prevailing bullion rates, and the prices mentioned above are as of August 6, 2023.

These tokens can be purchased both from the Mumbai Mint premises and through the official India Government Mint website.

Kolkata Mint Commences Bookings for RSS Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced the bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the 100 Years of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The bookings are open from October 7, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, on October 1, 2025, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the commemorative coin along with a special postal stamp to mark the event at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The ₹100 coin is currently available in the Proof Set, packaged with a booklet pack. It remains to be seen whether the Mint will also issue the UNC Set with a booklet pack or the Proof Set with an MDF box.  The ₹100 coin is priced at ₹8,410 for the Proof Set, which comes packaged with a booklet pack.
