Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj Coin Release in March 2025

The Buddhivani Foundation is set to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Jain Acharya Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj with a grand event on March 9, 2025. The highlight of the occasion will be the release of  commemorative coin with the denomination of ₹150, honoring the legacy of this esteemed spiritual leader.

The event is scheduled to take place at AUDA Auditorium Shela, Karnavati Club Road, Shela, Ahmedabad. The day will feature various programs, discourses, and celebrations, drawing devotees, scholars, and enthusiasts eager to pay tribute to this revered figure.

Acharya Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj was a highly respected Jain monk known for his profound teachings and significant contributions to Jain philosophy. His wisdom and spiritual guidance have left a lasting impact on his followers and the Jain community.

As part of the ceremony, visitors will receive an invitation token upon arrival. This event aims to honor the Acharya's legacy, ensuring that his teachings continue to inspire future generations.

Earlier in 2017, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi acknowledged Acharya Buddhisagar Maharaj’s foresight in his teachings. Speaking at the inauguration of the Aji Dam filling under the Sauni Yojana, the Prime Minister recalled how the Acharya, nearly 90 years ago, had predicted that water would one day be sold in shops. His handwritten notes remain a testament to his deep vision and understanding of societal changes.

This celebration is expected to be a momentous occasion, bringing together individuals from all walks of life to honor a remarkable spiritual leader. A gazette notification was issued by the Ministry of Finance on November 4, 2024, officially confirmed the release of this coin. 

The commemorative coin is reportedly minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata. It can also be pre-booked through the Buddhivani Foundation at a price of ₹3,996. Additionally, several more commemorative coin releases are expected this year, as outlined in the upcoming and possibility section.

The Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, released a ₹100 commemorative coin  and special postal envelope to mark the first Samadhi Divas of Sant Shiromani Digambar Jainacharya Vidyasagar Mahamuniraj during his visit to Chandragiri, Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh, today, February 6, 2025.
