Mumbai Mint Reopens Bookings for Earlier Coin Issues
The India Government Mint, Mumbai, reopened bookings for several commemorative coins that were issued on various earlier occasions. The bookings were opened today, January 28, 2026, and were subject to limited availability.
These coin sets were issued as Proof Sets with booklets, whereas they were earlier available only in folder or blister packaging.

It may be noted that by the time this update was published on the blog, all the above sets had already been sold out, as each issue was available in limited quantities of approximately 30–40 sets. Nevertheless, this update has been documented for future reference.
It is also to be noted that the India Government Mint’s website has changed its payment gateway from CCAvenue to Razorpay’s HDFC Collect Now. At present, UPI payment acceptance is disabled but is expected to be enabled shortly. Several collectors have raised concerns regarding difficulties in processing payments through credit cards, debit cards, and net banking, which are also expected to be rectified.
