The Government of India will be issuing a ₹150  commemorative coin  and postal stamp to mark the 150 Years of Vande Mataram , the National Song of India. Vande Mataram, the National Song of India, is a timeless ode to the motherland, symbolizing devotion, unity, and national pride. Written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875, the song beautifully personifies India as a divine mother, nurturing and sacred. Its powerful verses inspired countless Indians during the freedom movement, evoking deep patriotic fervor. Even today, Vande Mataram continues to resonate across generations, reminding every citizen of the eternal bond with the motherland and the spirit of selfless service to the nation. The evolution of India’s commemorative coinage has entered a new phase with the introduction of Nickel Silver as the primary metal composition , replacing the long-standing Silver Alloy (Quaternary Alloy) and Pure Silver options.  This marks a significant shift in the history of modern Indian coinage, reflecting a blend of economic prudence, technological advancement, and an effort to make commemorative issues more accessible to a wider public.
