The India Government Mint, Kolkata has commenced bookings for several commemorative coin sets issued earlier on different occasions, now being offered as re-strikes. The bookings opened today, March 16, 2026, and are subject to limited availability.

Update:

The India Government Mint, Kolkata revised its listing terminology from “Restrike” to “Re-issue” following a clarification request. In numismatic terms, a restrike refers to a coin that is newly struck using the original design and dies after the original period of issue has ended. A re-issue, on the other hand, is a broader term that may refer either to a restruck coin or to previously struck, unsold stock being offered again, sometimes in new packaging or formats.
