President Murmu Unveils ₹75 Coin on 75th Constitution Day

The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, along with Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the ₹75 commemorative coin and a postage stamp to mark the 75th Anniversary of Constitution  at the Central Hall of Samvidhān Sadan in New Delhi. The event was attended by Speaker Shri Om Birla, Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, and other dignitaries. The tagline for the year-long celebrations is “Humara Samvidhan, Humara Swabhiman”. In addition to the release of the commemorative coin and postage stamp, the event also featured the unveiling of two books titled “Making of the Constitution of India: A Glimpse” and “Making of the Constitution of India & Its Glorious Journey”. The Government of India will issue a ₹100  commemorative coin  to mark the Centenary Celebration of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on November 25, 2024, confirming this coin. Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI), established in 1924 in Mysuru, Karnataka, is one of India’s oldest medical colleges. Affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, it offers MBBS, postgraduate, and super-specialty courses. Known for academic excellence and attached to hospitals like K.R. and Cheluvamba, MMC&RI combines quality education with essential healthcare services. Denomination Change Announced for Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab Coin

The Ministry of Finance reissued the gazette notification today, November 19, 2024, regarding the issuance of a commemorative coin for the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab , ahead of its release this week. The coin will now have a denomination of ₹125, instead of ₹100, as stated in the earlier notification issued on December 29, 2023. The metal composition of the ₹125 coin remains the same as stated in the earlier notification, consisting of a Quaternary Alloy comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams, have a diameter of 44 mm, and feature 200 serrations along the edge. The Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, released a ₹100 commemorative coin today, November 18, 2024, to mark the Centenary Year of the State Bank of India’s Mumbai Main Branch .  The event took place at the Tata Theatre, Nariman Point, Mumbai. Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for MDL and CSB Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has started accepting bookings for the  commemorative coins  issued to mark the ' 250 Years of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited ' and ' Platinum Jubilee of Central Silk Board '. The bookings commenced today, on November 15, 2024, and are subject to limited availability. The ₹250 coin issued on Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) and the ₹75 coin issued on Central Silk Board (CSB) are available in Proof and UNC sets, with Folder or Blister packaging options. Additionally, both coins are also offered in a Proof Set with an MDF or Wooden Box. The ₹250 MDL coin in Folder or Blister packaging is priced at ₹4,290 for the Proof Set and ₹3,985 for the UNC Set. PM Modi to Unveil ₹150 Coin on Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Jamui, Bihar on 15th November to commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Divas .  This marks the commencement of the 150th Birth Anniversary Year celebration of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda . At around 11 AM, Prime Minister will unveil a ₹150 commemorative coin and postal stamp in honour of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The image above shows the proposed design of the commemorative coin, to be minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai. According to the gazette notification issued on November 12, 2024, by the Ministry of Finance, the ₹150 coin will be made of pure silver (99.9%) rather than a quaternary alloy and will weigh 40 grams instead of 35 grams. The bookings are open from November 9, 2024, and it is subject to limited availability. The ₹100 coin is currently available in Proof, housed in MDF/Wooden Box packaging, priced at ₹4,940. The bookings has opened today, November 4, 2024, and are subject to limited availability. Earlier, the Former President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, released the ₹125 commemorative coin to mark the '125th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ram Chandra 'Babuji Maharaj', on April 30, 2024, along with Shri Kamlesh Patel 'Daaji', at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad. Currently, the ₹125 coin is available in Proof and UNC sets with Folder/Blister packaging. Proof sets with MDF/Wooden Box packaging are awaited, although it's uncertain if they will be issued.
